Well done to everyone who braved the thunder, lightning and massive downpour we were presented with for the 2006 Stonehaven Half Marathon and associated races. Entries on the day were understandably down, but it was heartening to see that North East resolve and a grim determination not to endure sleepless nights worrying about the squandered money meant the vast majority of prepaid entrants took their place in six inches of water at the start line.

Many of the participants have already expressed their thanks to the many marshals and water station attendants who also had to endure the torrents for no more than a sense of a job well done and a free sandwich. Feel free to further express your thanks and anything else in the banter pages
